The 2008 Hillary vs. Obama campaign was as vicious and dirty as campaigns get. The younger voters might have not been around for 2008 elections, while some older voters might not remember it anymore. On March 17, 2016 NYT reported that during a closed event President Obama privately urged Democrats to unite behind Hillary Clinton. President Obama acknowledged that Ms. Clinton is not perceived as authentic by many Democrats. Throughout the primaries, Ms. Clinton was trying to cozy up to Pres. Obama.
