3.M.Al content

Mr. Kristof, reports that Al Gore himself “supports the Wall Street protests” and “described them perfectly as a ‘primal scream of democracy”’.  Mr. Gore, son of a U.S. Congressman/ Senator, who lost 2000 presidential election despite winning the popular vote, knows a thing or two about the imperfect shape of our democracy.  He also knows a lot about the huge unfairness of the unequal income distribution.  He knows very well the extent of the wide gap between the 99ners and the 1%.

His net worth, as reported in Fastcompany by Ms. Ellen McGirt (“Al Gore’s $100 Million Makeover”) is estimated to be … you guessed it:  ‘well in excess of $100 million’, with ‘stock options at Google worth reportedly $30 million and at Apple now valued at about $6 million’.   Ms. McGirt lists some of Mr. Gore’s entrepreneurial accomplishments:  held advisory position at Google and was on the board of Apple; charges only $175,000 for a speech; won an Academy Award; won the Nobel Peace Prize; promoted concerts; cable-television; investment firm in L.A. Who else could have been, Mr. Kristof, a better person to legitimize the voice of the dispossessed, the unemployed, and the frustrated '99%' who protest against the corporate greed?
